When I was about 6 years old, my family went on a church picnic. In the evening, we were roasting marshmallows by a campfire. Today, January 1 is the one day out of 365 that I allow myself to remember and grieve for my departed family and friends.

I do miss my wonderful father; what a great man. I could always depend on Dad for the best advice and I knew that he was the only person in my life that truly liked me just as I was.

My Mom, who was always there for me. Always encouraging me to do more and be better.
